2017 La La

n 7th release. In homage to Guigal’s famous La Mouline. La Turque and La Landonne – my vision for this wine is to attempt to age a single vineyard Heathcote Shiraz in 100% new oak for a minimum of 36 months (2017 = 46 months). It is small batch from a single barrel (500L) of shiraz and is only ever released in great vintages with a minimum of 6 years of age. The 2017 comes from the Greenstone vineyard (east to west planting and 4545 vines p/h). Made using shiraz clone PT10 with 100% whole bunch, wild yeast fermentation and malolactic fermentation. Open fermenter, no pumping, hand plunged, 34 days on skins before pressing. Only free run used, also unfined and unfiltered with min. 2 years in bottle before release.
